Car Credit: Lease & Hire Purchase. Once contract terms end, the vehicle will be owned by you. Once all of the payments have been finalised, which will include ‘an option to purchase payment’, you will acquire the vehicle. Part of the capital cost of the vehicle payment may be deferred into a 'balloon' or residual payment at the end of the agreement (Lease Purchase), which equates to the anticipated value of the vehicle at the end of the agreed loan period. A typical lease / hire purchase will consist of paying a low deposit, no mileage restrictions and the eventual ownership of the vehicle. Vat is not accrued but tax allowances do apply.
